Hi Letha! I checked out the link to your stats. That is awesome! How nice to be able to look back and see how far you've come and how every week gets you closer to your goal! You're doing better than great! :-)

DangerousKiwi, Sksamboots, Talkingmountain, Thanks for stopping by my journal and taking the time to leave comments. Hope you all are having a great day.
===================================

Good morning all. I’m on plan and planning to stay that way. So I thought I’d tell my Friday the 13th story. I only tell this story on Friday the 13th.

It was Friday, April 13th, 1979. This also just happened to be good Friday. My ex-husband Gary, a marine stationed at Cherry Point in North Carolina, dashed to the store for cigarettes. The market was less than a ¼ mile from our small off base rented house. When he came out of the store to head home a black cat without a collar jumped into his beat up 1962 Mercury Monterey. He decided to bring it home. He brought that cat into the house and it dashed under the bed where we left it alone figuring it would come out when it was ready. That black cat had one black kitten under my bed on Good Friday the 13th. Just one. We kept them both. And that explains my luck for the past 30 years.

I’ll be back tomorrow.
Letha

what a sweet story! and perfect for Friday the 13th FOR SURE.

Just so you know, we have a black cat...it took more than a week to find the perfect name for her. My son finally did it. Our black cat's name is

Phobia! she is the Basement Cat Extraordinaire.

what name did you give your baby Friday the 13th gift?

I had a tendency to have black cats - was I drawn to them or are there just more of them around? Miss them (DP is allergic).

Happy 13th, Ms. Letha - hope you have fine, happy, luck today.

DangerousKiwi, Seestorcoo, Nancy, Thanks for stopping by.

Bunsofaluminum, We named mama Coco and baby Sam. Not very creative but both names were my ex-husband’s idea and I was going through my agreeable wife phase. :cool:

Good morning all. I’m on plan and planning to stay that way. Rice, lettuce, and apples on the menu for me again today. Looks like a little break in the rain is forecasted for today. No big plans for me today. I’ve just started watching the Ally McBeal series on Netflix DVD. I never watched it when the series was originally on & I think I’m going to enjoy it. I’ll check back tomorrow.

Letha, I like series too. Not long ago finished Westwing. Congrats on the loss this week and continuing with MM. You have a good weekend.

You have just caused my brain to implode. I cannot, in my wildest imaginings, imagine you as "agreeable wife".

Letha,

It's so good to read your journal and to know you are doing so well. You are, as always, an inspiration.

I have a pure black cat as well, his name is Moony and he's about 9 years old, lives in my garage (at night) because my dogs would eat him.

He likes the night life, grows furry and fat in the winter and is sleek and slick in the summer.

Auntemmy, Nancy, & Birdy, Thanks for stopping by and taking a moment to comment on my journal.

Anna, We also watched the entire Westwing series on Netflix. Most excellent. Have you seen ‘The Wire’? We also did that series on Netflix & thought was well done.

Seestorcoo, I can’t believe it myself. Agreeable wife phase was between my pothead phase and my erroneous zone phase which was based on the book by Wayne Dyer where I went around telling everyone that no one else could make me happy or sad because my feelings came from my thoughts and I was the only one that controlled my own thoughts. I notice as I get older my phases last longer. I hope this McDougall phase sticks with me for 20 or 30 years. :cool:
========================

Another dark and rainy morning on the Washington coast. But I have a cozy fire, a hot cup of tea, warm rice in the Zojirushi, some light classical playing softly in the background, and of course my best girl to keep me company. Life is good. I'm on plan and planning to stay that way.

Hi Letha. We liked The West Wing and The Wire too. My husband and i usually have pretty different tastes. He's a thinking type and offended whenever anyone gets the science wrong, like Star Trek. I like a wide variety, but well done and as an English major, i am thrilled when i am surprised by a plot twist or an ending i didn't see coming. We both liked those two TV shows, and the first part of Lost, but in the second year now, only i still like it.

You're doing so well, and you are an inspiration to so many of us. Thank you for being here.
