Congratulations to the newest Star McDougaller, Kathy Roberts, on her successful weight loss and regained health. Her video is wonderful. Very informative for new folks and she comes off as very real. Her presentation was extremely creative, with music and pictures. Take the time to watch it and see if you don't agree. Impressive!!!!!!

Yes, thanks for the heads up and it was quite inspiring. I had seen her story in print/electrons but it's great seeing a person speaking.

Very inspiring - she really looks great! :-D

I just thought it was odd that she never mentioned Dr. McDougall in the video.
Yet on her website she mentions The Mediterranean diet and Joel Fuhrman! :?
A "Star McDougaller" should mention the good doc, IMHO!

I wish she had mentioned Dr McD too, but it seems pretty clear that she made the Youtube video for her own purposes, and most likely gave Dr McD permission to use it. It's in conjunction with her written Star story that you find she got to where she is by McDougalling.

I do wish she'd given him credit in the video too, but in fairness, she doesn't *promote* the Mediterranean diet, and if you look at the recommendations on her website, they are also definitely not ETL (she recommends as many grain servings as vegetable ones).

All that said, I was very glad to see the video -- I was wondering how she was doing. I know she didn't have huge health issues to overcome, but it's always nice to see this diet get someone gorgeous, too. :)

Thanks for informing us about this, Jim! She looks good for her age...or any age for that matter, and you're right, the video is very creative.

I love seeing new Star McDougaller videos.

I started training with Kathy in Sept 07 - aged 39 and 7 weeks after giving birth to my 3rd child. In the course of our weekly workouts, she introduced me to Dr McDougall's books & recipes and the principles of healthy eating.

7 months later, following a low-fat diet rich in wholegrains and veggies and working out 3 times a week, I had dropped 50lbs - 32 lbs lighter than my (goal) pre-pregnancy weight. I've stayed at my new weight for 9 months now and I have no intention of going back. I love the food, I love the lifestyle.

THANK YOU, KATHY, for transforming my life! xxx :)

What a nice post, jiffyjag. Hope you'll keep hanging around here. Is Kathy as stunning in person as she looks on her video? Gives hope to a few of us "ordinary" people. :-D

I was so glad to see that.

Kathy Roberts was my inspiration for doing this.

I did not have much weight to lose, but needed a way to eat where I could eat alot and not worry and also get alot of nutrients to keep my skin pretty and support my exercise etc.

She was a Star McDougaller I read about when I went to this site a couple of years ago. I thought, wow, she really looks great!!!
