Has Dr. McD done away with the Star McDougallers in print? I don't get sound at work and don't have a home computer, so I'm missing out on these. I miss it.

WOW jim. your story is very well told and inspiring. i have often wished we could find a magical element that would motivate people to care about their health and take responsibility for their illnesses. if there were such a thing, you are exactly what the desired end result would be ! thanks for sharing your story with us.

As someone that has gone through the process, I prefer the video as it was just a conversation with Dr. McDougall and a lot like the chat you would have in a living room. I think more people would be willing to be videotaped in this informal atmosphere rather than have to write out a wordy description by themselves. For the person evaluating the Star McDougallers testimony they can look the person in the eye and observe visual cues the printed word doesn't show. I guess a lot depends on whether you have better writing skills or verbal skills. Since I lack in both areas having Dr. McDougall ask the pertinent questions helped a great deal.
I mentioned this somewhere before...I felt on top of the world after that interview. You come away quite satisfied with your accomplishment...Untill I found out that the two people interviewed ahead of me had both lost over 100lbs each!!!! That brings you back to earth really fast. I am in awe of those that accomplished so much in so little time. I was honored to be in their company.

Well for those of us, who can't listen to them, maybe they will combine them all into a testimony DVD.

I think putting them on a DVD would be a great thing to do. Not just for motivating others but for keeping the Star McDougallers motivated!!
After all, wouldn't it be embarassing for a Star McDougaller to fall off the wagon?

It's a plug-in for Firefox that lets you save online videos like from youtube to a file on your computer? I tried it with the Star McDougaller videos and it works, although it's not terribly user friendly. It saves the file in a .flv format. This seems to play ok. This could be helpful for watching motivating videos that are unavailable.
