My own blood pressure is a mystery to me. I have a wrist cuff and the systolic is pretty accurate but I think the diastolic is about 10 points lower than the reading I get at the dentist's (I always request they take my blood pressure and I go 4 times a year) Just now it read 119/58 and you can see that the pulse pressure would still be high even if the diastolic were 68. For a few days the systolic was 165. I, like you cannot figure this out. I do not use the salt shaker but do use honey mustard with salt and chipotle hot sauce and am not as religious as you about no salt. Maybe I should try Dr. Mirkin's information about too low salt in the diet. The last time I was at the dentist it was 128/70 but she did not use the wide cuff and I had just sat down and did not do the 10 minute rest thing so I think the systolic would even be lower.
You don't have white coat hypertension do you?
