Hi! I'm from 30bananasaday! I was on that program strict for almost 8 months. I lost weight in the beginning but gradually gained that back and more! I found that I was never satisfied with all that fruit. Then I started having issues with feeling shaking and trembling after eating just fruit. I also couldn't deal with the strictness of the program.

I just started this board today - and I'm waiting on my Starch Solution book to be delivered today! I'm very excited about this. I researched as much as I could yesterday and today on-line and have eaten as well as I can today without really having read the program.

I'm excited to be with this group of like-minded people and look forward to having great success.

Wish me luck! ;-)

Hey guys! I started 80/10/10 in Sept 2011. I lost 25 pounds in the first 3 months then plateaued ever since. The past month I've gained back about 10 pounds and it's been so frustrating to me. Freelee and Durianrider always say you'll lose weight no matter what and then they blame it on anorexia if you gain....yeah right. I'm glad to see they do promote McDougall though! They have even added a cooked food forum on their website this week for people that are transitioning!

I still love my fruit though! I still eat alot of it. But now I'm adding in more rice, potatoes, and cooked veggies and I feel more balanced and have alot less cravings. It's only been a couple of weeks eating this way though, so we'll see how the weight loss goes. Looks like I'm down about 2 pounds for this week so far.

Have any of you had any luck with weight loss while going about half 80/10/10 and half McDougall? Or will I eventually need to stick to one plan? I still find that when I try to do all McDougall that I end up craving the fruit and if I go all fruit then I have cravings for rice and veg. So a mix of both is working for me as far as cravings go. I'm focusing on health, but of course weight loss is in there too. I still have 40-50 pounds to lose to get into a "normal" weight range.

I tried it for a couple months but couldn't afford it so I started reading Mcdougall and switched. I feel more satisfied on this because I was getting tired of eating so many bananas (and I was tired of waiting for them to ripen). :-P

On this plan you can have 2 fruits a day, along with other grains, and veggies. I love eating this way, it works.....you will feel great.

I came to The McDougall MWL Program because I was following 30bananasaday and had started gaining weight! On that program and on the 80/10/10 program - it is suggested to stretch your stomach by eating huge amounts of fruit!

I did this for about 8 months. Now - I'm on the MWL Program and I find myself eating way past my hunger. I'm so happy to be eating rice and potatoes and some salt! AND fat-free bottled salad dressing, catsup, and BBQ Sauce! It's like I'm at a non-stop party!I've only been on this MWL Program for a few days - so I don't know if I've lost any weight yet - I'm going to give it a week before I weigh.

I'm just curious - has anyone else had an issue with eating too much after stretching your stomach on the high-fruit diets?

Earthangel, you sound just like me! I was 80/10/10 for 9 months and struggling. Now I've been doing MWL for just over a week. I was doing the happy dance just being able to make my first pot of veggie soup and rice! haha! It's nice to be able to have a little more variety in my diet now, although I still love my fruit and wish there wasn't a limit of 2 servings in MWL.
I was struggling the first week with feeling like I was eating a ton of food and wasn't satisfied. I think it's because of the stretched out stomach from all the fruit I was eating. But I've noticed the last couple days have been much better. I feel like I've been eating a more normal sized portion of food and finally feeling full and satisfied. So give it some time - you should hopefully adjust as well!! Good luck!
