So I have been trying different diets for a while, including Eat to Live. Failed at all of them at one time or another. After gorging myself on meatloaf, brocolli casserole, and choc. chip cookies; I felt sick from the time ofeating 7pm till now (3am). I immediately remembered how good i felt when I was doing eat to live but knew i just never felt full enough, and then would cave and get something more calorie dense.

So adding starches back into my life sounds like a perfect plan.

So i have questions.
1: Starches: I have whole wheat rotini pasta from wal mart with the ingredient list being; whole durum wheat. (does not say flour) Does that make it an ok starch on the MWL program?
2: My oatmeal is quick cooking with the only ingredient being whole grain rolled oats. Is that ok or do I need steel cut oats or something else?
3:I know brown rice is ok but what about basmati or jasmine?
4. vitamin b12? nutritional yeast ok?
5. I need examples of yellow vegetables. All i can think of is corn and yellow peppers lol.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I wont be starting this officially until next week due to my work schedule being so hectic this week but i do want to start phasing things out and eating more veggies and grains right away.

Hi and welcome! I just finished my first week on this plan myself. You will be amazed at the energy you will have! Also you will leave a meal feeling content and satisfied. I tried Eat to Live also, but I couldnt stick with it because it had no real eating satisfaction, this program does! ;)

pasta is a flour product. I am just starting on the program also and have been reading through the guidelines. My daughter has the newest book and has been talking to me too.

Thanks guys for all of ur responses! We do have a trader joes so ill have to go check out those brown rices. I've been doing well with no animal products but added oils seems to be my downfall. I just bought all these vegan salad dressings for my potatos and they r just loaded with oil. Oh and I'm still eating ranch and drinking mt dew. :( but just cutting out all the other crap I was eating has helped me to lose 4pounds this past month. :)

So again really need names of yellow vegetables. Thanks everyone!

Hi--you don't need specifically yellow vegetables! I had trouble, too, in the beginning, with the term "green and yellow vegetables"--but what Dr. M really means is all the veggies, starchy like corn & peas, but also non-starchy like peppers, leafy greens, mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower, etc.,etc., etc.! Don't worry about it--just eat veggies of all kinds!

Yeah that question comes up a lot. I guess so many "diet" plans are so specific that people, understandably, take the term "green and yellow" literally. I was recently reading something (here, elsewhere? Can't remember) that used the term "rainbow vegetables." Loved that!
