I'd send Dr. McDougall a message telling him what's happening and see if he has any suggestions.

Green-eyed girl, I think you may not be eating enough. Are you taking your time and eating until you are pleasantly full 3x/day. Also, you may find that another meal/snack would help. Enjoy your starches! :D

Please keep us posted! :-D

I agree with Pinkrose, you could probably use more food! If you are feeling shaky and weak, have some starch, until you feel comfortably full, and see how your body feels. Keep us posted!

I too was wondering if you needed to eat more. You mentioned iron deficiency, and those certainly are symptoms of it. Eating loads of kale won't get you back to where you need to be though if indeed your iron is low. You might need to take a high dose iron pill for a while to get it back up. Best to check that with your doc though. Hope you're feeling better soon.

I agree. You're not eating enough food. Eat more beans. Beans satisfy. I have a genetic type of iron anemia and my oldest son has it as well. I have to take a ferrous gluconate (plant derived iron) every day as a supplement to keep my iron level normal. I've been anemic so many times growing up even when I was eating red meat. So I was taking Fergon but they're out of business so I have to find comparable iron now. Nature's Bounty makes a ferrous gluconate. I'm currently taking that one.

Thank you for sharing a plant-based brand. It's always good to know it's available. .

You're welcome. :) I can't tolerate ferrous sulfate the mineral form (that's what the doc usually prescribes) . I was horribly constipated. Ferrous gluconate, is perfect for my system. No side effects.

How long have you been on the program? If it's just a short time, it could be "toxic hunger," a type of withdrawal symptom when coming off SAD.

If so, it will pass, I assure you. It's a sign you're getting well.
