 Post subject: soil and starting seeds

Well, those who have been around a year know last year I had a hard time getting plants to sprout and when I did they seemed leggy.

I usually use these peat pods to start them, then open the bottom (they have a net on some models) and stick the pod into a larger pot when plants are large enough. I used packets of seeds trying to start eggplant and peppers. Broccoli seemed to start fine though.

This year I purchased a system from Johnny's which had several plastic trays in all sizes, for starting plants depending upon what it was. I put my potting soil in there, and put my seeds in, and wow, they sprout so quick. I got brave and decided to start summers plants for decoration also. I've learned something new.
