Our Pictures

I thought it would be nice to have everyone post their pictures here especially for those who want to remember everyone's face in connection with your names. I also thought it would be fun to post family pictures or anyone we value in our lives, including the family pet!
Here is my family. (L-R) Our daughter Seanna, our son Samuel, my dear husband. I am the one behind my family rooting them on!
Below is a note on how to post your pictures. It will be great to see updates of your pictures in future also...including current pics. and periodic updates.
We would all love see pictures of your life, your interests and especially what you are cooking!!
Happy snapshots!
Lisa
Here is how to post pictures:
1. Take a photo
2. Upload photo to computer
3. Crop & color correct photo
4. Use Microsoft Office Picture Manager to resize photo for internet. 448 x 336 pixels is a good standard size.
5. Upload photo to online image host. I use http://www.tinypic.com/ . It’s free and you don’t even need to register.
6. Copy and paste code from image host into your post on the McDougall discussion forum.
It takes about 5 minutes to go through all these steps. *The above were the steps I used for uploading our family picture. Now here are some additional ideas:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note: If your photo is too big, it messes up the forum format. You can edit/delete your post/photo if you don’t like the way it looks.
You can also use photobucket and can change the picture size on there.
After you get the url for the photo, use the square brackets...
If you get your photos from flickr, they give you a choice of what size to use...then copy the url for it and add the brackets. You would have to size your photos to a reasonable size before submitting if not using Flickr.
when you get the url...you use the square brackets.
like....
or
this is what works with this site...!!!!! _________________ "I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal..."

A Great Idea.

Lisa-Anne, what a great idea. About a year ago, I posted a suggestion and asked for the members to complete their profile. I am usually interested in finding out about the people who are posting ... you know, their walk of life, business, hobbies etc. I did get some negative responses but I still think it would be nice if they did give some info rather than all blanks. Your idea is so good and what a nice looking family and your profile is also excellent ... that says a lot about you and your family.
Also, I want to thank you for giving the details on how to post the pictures. I tried yesterday or the day before ... getting a picture of my wife, Bev and me as an avatar. It was too large when I tried transferring and I never figured out how to downsize it. I will try again when I have a little more time and if I have a problem, I'll contact you.
Only a minute before I saw this thread, I saw a photo of the most precious children on another thread and I replied to ... gosh I can't remember the members name and I was curious to find out how she got it on the thread. Then, out of the clear blue, there is your post. Now will your picture be on all of your posts?

A picture is worth a thousand words

Hi there Charlie,
Yes, my picture will be on all my posts until I change it.
I believe there is information with a contact email if you want to figure sizing better on the " Marcher" forum if you look down the list at the top.
Thanks for your encouraging words, they are very much appreciated!

Hello Lisa-Anne and the rest of those still connecting with the McDougall Marchers. I have been busy for several months dealing with Breast cancer...it returned after 20 years. In September I had a partial mastectomy to remove the lump and tissue around it...we got clean borders. So for now, the cancer has been removed. I am still doing the McDougall Plan...have lost a total of 25 pounds since March....and haven't really tried to loose weight. The weight just comes off on this program. I am also seeing a naturalpath/acupuncturist and am on many remedies, plus getting acupuncture twice a week. Besides the cancer, many of the systems in my body were out of wack. So 2009 has been a year of health for me. Feeling great and looking forward to 2010! I attended the McDougall chef's week-end in June and learned more recipes and saw more chef's prepare great food...had a great time...we ate, and ate, and ate all week-end. Mary McDougall was in her element! It was great fun. Hope everyone is doing well and marching onward to better health. I joined Facebook and am friends with Jeff so get great recipes from him now. Hugs to all, Sandy Paddock

Sandy,
Thank you for the update. Wow, so much has happened with you and I thank the Lord you received such excellent treatment. I really wanted to know how you were safely able to detect your breast cancer? I have heard Mammograms have radiation issues that can create problems and my doctor does not recommend them. Were you able to confirm this in another way? I too am checking on this with my own situation. If you want to email me privately that would be great.
