I lost a bunch of weight on McD about 10 years ago but, over time and stress (reverting back to comfort foods like cheese, processed food, etc.) gained it all back and maybe even more. I've had a very difficult time getting back on the health wagon.
My brother lost 90 using MediFast so, out of desperation, I tried it. I've lost about 40 of the 100 pounds I need to lose but now my finger joints are stiff and cracking painfully and two digits are so swollen and stiff I can barely bend them. Could this be from the higher protein consumption of the MediFast diet? I thought with it being a mild ketosis diet (not like Atkins) it would be worth the short-term health hit to get rid of the weight that's causing arthritis in my ankles and other health issues. However, as of today I said to hell with it; I'm doing McD even if I have to eat 10 pounds of starch a day - even if I overeat some from stress on McD it's still healthier than high protein, I'm thinking.
Also, is it okay for oats to be a main starch? When I made brown rice my main starch I didn't feel quite tip-top, I remember. In order to take away the beastie voice options, I want to eat extremely plain for at least a few days. I'd like to just eat plain oatmeal and veggies for a while. Any problem with this that you can see (Jeff or Carol)?
Thanks in advance. I have a few more questions later, but my fingers hurt too much at this point, good grief.
