i know its crazy but rilley can sure get them to eat anything...i mean if whiskers scurrying on the table gets them to eat it and enjoy it why not?
aaron thinks its just gross but considering i grew up in a house full of many pets this is as normal as a parakeet walkin thru a bowl of gravy, the salamander in the mash potatoes, the kitty on the table eatin the mac n cheese.
at least rilley is house broke and she has a ocd problem about washing her hands n face and its far better than when trucker made off w our turkey at thanksgiving. no i dont always invite them to the table but again ...kids need i say more

if it works it works................

Absgirl -

10 pounds!!! Rice with Ice in a Water Sauce for all!!!

Thanks for posting those pix - Rilley is adorable and your babies are gorgeous!

You live in KY? I love KY! One of my best friends is from Lexington and I have been there - and thereabouts - lots. I am from NY and every time I'd visit I'd be talking so fast and my the time I'd be leaving I'd've adjusted to the slower pace and dread going back to the scurry-in-a-hurry of NYC.

Now I live in California, so I am nice and easygoing  It's all good. No worries

cooked my heart out today
bbq chicken for the gang... bbq brown rice for me
green beans
mashed potatoes
cabbage w carrots
mixed beans
sweet taters w apple n raisins
grits

wonderful day started by pickin up a chewed up possum from the yard...trucker made a visit to the poochie-atrician and rosie goes tomorrow...not sure which one did it so they both get the once over.
anyway thats what led to the cookin spree...i hate it when they kill critters...usually its a mole or squirrel some times a crawl dead...for my non-kyian friends thats a cray fish. occasionally a crow or blue jay but never anything this big.

i worry they'll go after my lil rilley..truckers already tried.
aaron wondered why i was on such a cookin spree.....i cook when upset. on the bright side i didnt eat it all!

i filled my plate w the cabbage and beans then went back for bbq rice!! n had the sweet potatoes for dessert. i even managed to drink about 4 glasses of water. the rest is packed in the frig for later in the week...aaron be home friday so im sure the kids and he will knock it out. the sweet taters r all mine!!!

Sorry to hear about the possum, absgirl, but I did enjoy reading all these slice of life updates from your end. I have been known to cook when upset, too. :) Your menu sounds great, and good for you for sticking to the BBQ rice!

Re: absgirl's i thought i could do this but now i know i can

a nice quiet day.
was up at 8am. n realized i only got up once during the night for a potty call...yeah me...i have noticed i am sleepin longer between potty breaks in the night.

as i was gettin dressed i happen to notice that i pulled my right leg up without using my arm to help. maybe it was a fluke but ive not been able to lift that leg to dress without pulling it up w my hand for a while.....like a year or so maybe...so im gonna pay close attention to this.

i even had energy this morning.....did laundry ,cleaned the kitchen and moved the microwave n freezer around. even pulled bed sheets n washed those.

i finally rested on couch n dozed off during my gibbs time [ncis] but only slept hour n half as opposed to 2 2 hour naps during the day.

i started my day with a big bowl of breans and a little bowl of oatmeal. later i grabbed a few grapes. for dinner i had left overs... sweet taters, mashed potatoes..from under the broiler today with a nice brown top, a big salad of baby spring mix w pineapple, yellow bell pepper, crushed corn chips, and the rice vinegar to top it......and of course all day w water..only 3 big glasses today.

its 830 and bedtime is 9 for the kids but im sure ll not be behind them to long!!!!!!!

KP came by today..she was checkin into this woe but not certain if it was for her. i reminded her if she felt she couldnt do it at 100% then start small. to give up animal like 2 days a week and go for the starch diet...i reminded her i said in the beginin the same thing but my mind quickly changed. so im hopeful she'll give it a whirl.

Thanks for all these wonderful updates, absgirl. It makes me really happy to read how you're settling into all of this. Your food sounds great!

Kids arriving late tonight. Time for a little siesta on the couch now that it's cooled off.

absgirl, you are surely "going for the gold"! 10 lbs is just wonderful. Your girls are so cute and Riley sounds like a good teacher. Getting kids to eat their veggies. Your journey doesn't sound easy, but I hear a lot of love and laughter.

Keep up the good work!!!

Yea for you: taking less frequent trips to the restroom and lifting your right leg. Those small steps are in the right direction!

Absgirl, it is so cool to see how quickly you are benefiting from this dietary change! That leg-lifting things especially - that's a big deal!

Wakey-wakey time sounds fun at your house :-D We have cats, they like to hook their little claws in my nostril and pull to wake me up. It's not fun exactlyy, but it is funny, if you know what I mean. And it's always me, not DH. I guess they know who opens their cans...
