absgirl,

Hope you got some rest and are feeling a little better. :) Let us know how you are doing. Heck, you are probably in bed asleep right now. Speaking of which, I think I will head that way myself.

Goodnight All!

i dont think ur speakin out of turn...

i dont take the nuvigil everyday. ive been on it for almost 2 years and it quit working...more like i got so used to it i could sleep a half hour after takin it. i stopped for a while and now i only take it when i got something important to do.

the other day i was supposed to work on the closet but i got sucked into the chair in front of the pc and got nothin done. then when i went out to the garage, i had a huge mess to clean up before i could start. then i was mad. i spent my energy burst cleanin and not workin.

i guess i brewed all day about it cus i can usually drop off to sleep within 24 hours [ lately when i take it ]. i guess there was so much on my mind between fightin w the roofers, school prep, keepin the kids in line and i knew i had to go after aaron.

after i got aaron from work i was able to sleep a few hours til the roofers showed up way early [ like 3 days early ]. aaron fussed cus i wouldnt go back to bed--i couldnt!

i finally went to bed early after all left and dark was coming. i slept the majority of the night. i feel much better now. i think next time i have to take nuvigil il only take half.

anyway il carry on!
had a cold baked potato this morning and chinese vegetables this evening............so far so good!

absgirl,

Thanks for explaining more context about the nuvigil, and for your nice reply to my wondering. Sounds like maybe next time trying half could be a good experiment. The longer you stay with this way of eating the more how these drugs affect you may change as well. I'm hoping so, anyway, and that you won't need them as much, since they seem so hard on you.

And yes, here's to carrying on!! Hooray for you! And to good cold baked potatoes. :-)

hi absgirl,

Sub 1/2 cup of applesauce for that vegan margarine (you don't want to eat that, believe me--no one with MS should be eating that stuff, and it's not on the McDougall plan) and you've got a McDougall friendly banana bread recipe. Here's a recipe that uses applesauce from my friend Susan's site, Fat Free Vegan Kitchen:

http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/2006/04/ch ... bread.html

I've made this before (when i first started out) and it's really yummy. You don't have to use dried cherries if you don't have any. You can adapt the recipe you posted in this way.

Good luck!

Let us know how it turns out. :-)

okay, now you have to educate me, absgirl--what are maters? :?:

Sorry to hear the bread was an underwhelm. It takes a while to get used to fat free baking. It has a different texture than baked goods made with fat. Keep trying until you come up with one you like. Fat free muffins usually come out pretty good. Both Fat Free Vegan Kitchen and Happy Herbivore blogs have muffins recipes. Happy Herbivore has a chocolate chip cookie recipe a lot of people seem to like. I do much better if I stay away from chocolate altogether so I haven't tried them.

I like hash browns and salsa too. :)

Thanks for translating for this northern girl. :)

Maters, Taters, I like that. Makes sense. I haven't had grits/gits?? And have no idea what hotbrowns are. :) But I have read some of Wendell Berry's poems and one of his novels. He's from Kentucky. Does that count? :-)
