I think i can do this

Postby absgirl » Mon Jul 30, 2012 9:00 pm

well i ate a few baked potatoes today! i put some veggy cheddar cheese on them along w some tofuie stuff.........it was pretty good, so i think i handled my first day without meat ok. i had to order my book so im waiting for it and even tho im not doing the day 1-12 thing yet im trying to be good.

for exercise, i strolled thru walmart getting school supplies. honestly it wore me out. then i had to hit the grocery to pick up a few things. it sucked the life out of me.

but now im wanting something sweet...the only thing sounding good is some chocolate soy milk. i havent tried it yet but its chocolate so how could it be bad? maybe ill grab a few cherrios or an orange....il figure it out. im not hungry just wanting something sweet.

When I get a sweet craving, like I did yesterday, I eat a piece of fruit. Yesterday, it was watermelon, but not the entire watermelon, just a bowlful.

Nice to see you starting a journal! Congratulations on the first meatless day!

thanks fulenn

i caved and just fixed a piece of whole grain toast w sugar free strawberrys preserves on it...got a cup of the chocolate soy milk and nuked it a minute for some "hot chocolate"

i might not be doin this diet completely right but i know that eatin this is way better than what i would do before. im proud of myself for not eating my daughters birthday cake and choc chip ice cream from yesterdays party!

i hate change so easing into this is a good idea for me i think...

finally, i had to order my SS book so i did that today. :-D

i noticed when i got up this am i wasnt as stiff or bloated as usual. i havent taken any spasticity meds today! i hate them anyway...they make me sleepy. :-o :-o :-D

i think i over did the walking yesterday cus my legs r still not over it.

i tried the:
vegan cheese-- it was ok but didnt melt well.
chocolate silk milk--i drank a cup to kill a sweet crave--i really like it but its pricey
vegan chicken for fajitas--was good on spuds

i even had a bowl of oats this am w no sugar or milk--yeah me!! i havent been hungry cus ive always been a grazer, now i just graze on veggys!
its been a good day...i even noticed ive not smoked very much today. maybe with the change in WOE it will be easier to quit!

I really like eating oatmeal for breakfast because it keeps me from getting hungry almost the entire morning.

Yea on not needing the meds!!!

I have not gotten the Starch Solution, but am waiting for a paycheck...

Keep it up!

eventually we will lick this goofy disease!

today im having the day 1 breakfast and ive got a pot of great northern and pinto beans cookin already. il probably use the beans on top of a spud for dinner.

im glad im not so stiff again today! im feeling better already.but by the end of the day my legs r still shot and im clingin to walls and furniture. but oh well...taking the hill one inch at a time is all i can do.

plannin on hittin the grocery later...so im sure to get walkin in. if i have energy left il probably take the kids to get uniforms for school...more walkin!

what a happy day!

Bummer! Lani said at the end of the teleclass that she would send a link to the recording to everyone who had registered, so you will still be able to listen to it. It was really good!

Hope you feel better soon....

havent got my book yet...still waitin on the ups guy

i found a interesting way to get my kids thinking about my new way of eating.

this morning before my girls were up stirrin i sat at the table w our little pet rodent, rilley rat
to some this is disturbing im sure but i am a serious animal lover. while before this change i would pour 3 cups of coffee: 1 for me and 1 for each of my shepherds, well lets just say they r not into the potato thing. rilley on the other hand, well we r enjoying our breakfast together.

this morning i popped open the door of her house. she followed me around the kitchen til i sat at the table w a piece of whole wheat toast, apple slices and a huge bowl of beans.

she sat quietly by my plate nibbling on toast and apples...no worries shes house broke. i left a few beans on my plate just for her. when the kids woke they were happy to have a breakfast w rilley. they proceeded fixing oatmeal and toast to share. i was happy dishin out the fruit and oats as rilley visited everybodys plate.

if having rilley runnin around on the table gets my kids eatin better n tryin new healthy food then all i can say is

LONG LIVE RILLEY

been on a bean kick...navy pinto and great northerns. i filled the crock pot and cooked them for 10 hours...now i just scoop some into a bowl top w ketchup and im good to go..soooo yummy

i tried some balsami rice...it was ok but i wasnt thrilled. gonna try some jasmine rice too this week.

i put the rice w some beans on a whole grain corn tortilla that was decent.

this morning had a bowl of hemp and granola cereal w vanilla soy milk on it...pretty good

im feeling really good lately!

Hi absgirl, I think your doing great! The crockpot beans & ketchup sounds good, I'll have to try that. I had a pet rat as a teen, he was smart and sooooo sweet. People don't know what they are missing! :) I feel lucky to have parents who allowed me to have one as a pet, what a great experience and an eye opener for them, seeing what an amazing little creature he was.
