I think it's true, or some version of it is true. All I have to do is listen. That can be the tricky part. :)

Thanks for posting this. :)

Hi Nicole,

I like the sincerity of your story/journal. This is great for those with PSA, AS and RA. It sounds tempting, I might just start one soon too.
I love LA, OC too, I was there last year visiting family for a week. You are right when you say that you can walk outside and be in a better mood.

Sorry to hear of your friend's death, I am sorry, I'll say a prayer for you.

Hi Moonwatcher,

Yes, I think it is true, too. At the very least it contains some wisdom.

I did not realize I had written so much! When I was a kid, I never stopped talking - got sent to the principal's office daily for "disruption" Guess I'm still at it ;-)

50th party, woohooo! As long as y'all come, it'll be great shindig.

Hi Nina Mercedes,

Thanks for visiting! I am really glad you are here and that you are finding some things already that are helping you. I saw you did start a journal, that is wonderful! I look forward to hearing about and sharing your journey :)

Nicole,

I love the newest pic!! It is exactly what I need to hear right now. Someone put a bug in my ear about sth I've wanted to do forever. It is pretty much the opposite of the path I am on now, with the classes & everything. So idk if I should do it or not. Hopefully I will eork up the courage to take some baby steps this week. :)

Eri -Travel! Do it now, before you forget ;-)

Leslie - my Dad is doing well, thanks so much for asking. Just waiting for the next try at the surgery, and adjusting meds to get rid of the clot. He was on Predaxa, but now is on Coumadin.

Michelle - I am good but really busy! Sorry to be so MIA. Lots going on, nothing bad though. Thank God for small favors! :)

Post-fast I have been improving nicely, although not as quickly as I prefer (when does that ever happen? ) But still, steadily better than I was before the fast. :-D

Scary news today - my cousin, who is exactly my age, shares the same cholesterol level and BP (low and low) and has zero risk factors, had a heart attack the other day. She had 2 stents and and angioplasty. Her cardiologist said it was a "genetically linked" heart attack because she has no other risk factors, and so she called me to warn me to go to a cardiologist. (She is vegan, but not lowfat vegan)

I am really, really glad she is OK, and I feel really, really bad for her - she has gone through a lot this year already, really hard stuff and multiple medical procedures.

I sent her a link to Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease, and she seems pretty excited about it. I just hope diet is something that can help - seriously, her TC is 120 and her BP is 90/60. And I wonder if I should get it checked out. I think I'll email Dr McDougall.

Thanks Leslie and Eri.

Found out a lot more. Turns out my cousin had a Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection, which is linked to...wait for it...autoimmune diseases!

Her arteries were clear after all, this is a connective tissue thing. So I am trying to figure out what to do. Maybe get a high-sensitivity CRP test or something? Dunno yet.

She is doing well, though, otherwise. She "put her big girl panties on" as she said today. She has never been one to back down from a challenge!

Talked to my Doctor. He said that I should definitely get some cardiac tests, that this condition is one of the reasons people with autoimmune disease are at a higher risk for heart attacks.

So I guess I am going to make an appointment. <sigh>

Ah well. Enough with the whining! :-D

*hugs* Nicole! Hopefully the tests won't show any damage. Let us know when you have them done, OK? :)
