The Frogs and the Well

Two Frogs lived together in a marsh. But one hot summer the marsh
dried up, and they left it to look for another place to live in: for
frogs like damp places if they can get them. By and by they came to
a deep well, and one of them looked down into it, and said to the
other, "This looks a nice cool place. Let us jump in and settle here."
But the other, who had a wiser head on his shoulders, replied, "Not so fast, my friend. Supposing this well dried up like the marsh, how
should we get out again?"

Listen to the frogs. I also like the thought, about how we accept negatives into our world.
I you drop a frog into a pot of boiling water, it will jump out, or out of your hands even before you get it to the water.
But, if you let the frog sit in a nice pot of cool water, and heat it up slowly, the frog will relax. Until it ends up all cooked, without ever knowing what was happening.
Lots of bad habits sneak in this way. Like the super sizing of meals.

One of the interesting things about boiling humans is that they don’t all get cooked at the same rate. And sometimes seeing that your neighbor has been cooked will cause you to jump out of the water even if you yourself have not reached a level of discomfort that would prompt you to make a change.

Thanks for reminding me how easy it is for me to fall off the McDougall wagon if I'm not careful. :D It only takes one mistake, one bite, one 'one little bit won't hurt.' :-D ck

Sadly, this isn't true. Frogs will jump out of the water once it gets too warm.

Guess the moral to the story is to be smart like frogs, and get out when things get too hot. :)

Just my two cents,

Beth :)
