I planted a papaya from seed and it's in a sunny kitchen window. It's now taller than I am, is flowering and has one little papaya about the size of a long skinny lemon.

I'm hopeing to get a crop, but if not, at least it's a really pretty plant.

wow that surprises me. I'd think it would need pollination to produce fruit. Shows how much I know. I remember back in the 70's that one of the in things was to grow an avocado plant from the seed (after eating the avocado). I did get one to grow, never got fruit. We use to grow a lot of odd stuff back then.

It is very nice and amazed. I would advice you to plant one more papaya plant in your balcony. It will be so nicely grow than at kitchen window. Also i would suggest you to plant the creeper of grapes and cherries. This really a good idea to establish a fruit garden.
