Seriously, the best thing you can do is stop the sugar cold turkey. I had a really hard time with this for the longest time, but I went and bought some stevia, and have not used sugar since. You may have a few "tired" days trying to get off of the sugar and caffiene, but then one day the symptoms will be gone, and you will feel so much better! It is completely worth it I promise.

Also, you might try some sublingual B12. A nurse friend recommended it to me because I was feeling really tired all of the time. I don't use it often, but it is a liquid, and you use the included dropper to put it under your tongue, where you hold it for 30 seconds before swallowing. It made a huge difference for me while I was going through my slump, and now I rarely use it. The great thing is that your body naturally disposes of the B12 that it can't use, so you can't "overdose" on it like some of the other vitamins & minerals.

Those are my 2 thoughts anyway. I hope the tiredness goes away for you soon!

I've been doing good with cutting back on the sugar. In fact, I am finally choosing drinking water over drinking sugar. I can't see a day where I'll cut it out 100% from my diet, but on a fay to day basis I think I can live without it.

However, off sugar, I am insanely hungry. Perhaps I've been substituting food with sugar? And now I'm afraid that I'm starting to put on weight. I feel as if I need to start eating MWL!

I still can't get over the idea that if I'm hungry I can eat something like a potato and I can fill myself up and not put on extra weight. I guess all those low carbers are getting to me with potatoes. :-P

yeah I've been cutting out sugars too and it made me hungrier as well. Sugar has been one of hardest things for me to cut out. I was putting maple syrup in my oatmeal and that is my hardest thing to cut out. been doing a lot more salads for breakfast so that I could get myself used to not having it.

Hi Rosey, thanks for posting! Glad to hear that I'm not the only person out there going through this! :)

Today things were a lot easier, hunger wise, I find eating apples keeps me happy. I still do get a little crazy for sugar, though. :o

However, I'm a little more alert than before, which is nice!

I'm still sticking to this diet. My life has been crazy lately, so posting here hasn't been a big priority. :|

I'm doing well, except for the migraines. I've never had them before and now I'm a little scared. It could also be because of this crazy weather we've been having. I've been hearing from people who have weather induced migraines. :-(

Exercising was painful at first. I thought that the exercises were simple but boy did it ever make me sweaty/sore. I'm doing better now though. I like the way I feel when I've exercised. :D

Today I did half an hour on the Wii. Hopefully, if I do this regularly, it will be enough exercise to keep off weight gain. :?

I know I am not following MWL, but perhaps I should give it a try. I need to remember that starving myself is not an option!

I have quit coffee, however, I got terrible migraines from doing this, so I had to have some caffeine because it was so bad. I am having tea this week. This coming weekend, I will cut that out, and start focusing on cutting out white sugar. I hope that will work to keep me from packing on the pounds!

I feel so defeated. :-(

I eat so healthfully, and yet I feel as if I am putting on weight. I can feel it. I am trying to exercise, however, I do not feel myself getting toned. :-(

I just don't know what to do. I just can't find the balance. :-(

So this weekend I start cutting back on sugar and replacing it with WHOLE FOODS. I have cucumbers to make cucumber water, and lemons to make lemon water. I also have some apples and peaches to eat. And, in case of emergency, I have some dried figs in case I get tempted during the week to stop by a certain gluten-free bake shop.

I think it's time I be honest with myself about the foods that I am eating that can contribute to weight gain. Although Dr. M says you can add a little sugar to your diet so you'll eat the food, the amount I've been eating, and only in drinks, has been insane. Also, it usually comes with almond milk. It's made of almonds, even if it says low-calorie, I shouldn't be surprised that it packs on the pounds, so to speak! Also, as I said before, no more stops at a certain gluten-free bake shop.

I should also get an exercise routine in. I dabble in yoga, but I should actually do it. I also have this Foundation training that I'm very interested in. It works all the muscles that I've been sitting on!

Maybe, if I post what I eat, and be honest about it, we can see if I am eating a healthy diet or not? I'm not sure if anyone here is willing to help, but here it goes! :D

It was nice to read "The Starch Solution" because he reminded me of a very important point: Eat your starches. So, I put a bigger emphasis on rice than on veggies and beans. So, I am filled up on less food and for longer!

Also, during my work day (for the summer only) where I get no lunch break, I have steamed (skinless) potatoes with salt, pepper, and cayenne, it really gets me through the day! :)

So, here goes nothing!

B: Rice, beans, veggies, chipotle tomato sauce
D: Decaf earl grey x2 w/ sugar and almond milk
L: Potatoes (2 cups) peeled and steamed, with salt, pepper, and cayenne
D: Chocolate mint rooibos tea w/ sugar and almond milk, water
S: Vega vibrancy bar
D: Same as breakfast
D: Rooibos tea w/ sugar and almond milk and chocolate mint rooibos w/ sugar and almond milk
S: 2 dried figs
E: 10 minutes "Foundation" training

Today was a good day! :)

Went out, could have bought chocolate, I bought raspberries. I was offered coffee this morning, I drank herbal tea.

I injured my sacroiliac, so I didn't do much with exercise. However, I plan to check out a gym tomorrow. :D

B: Hashbrowns (No skins)
D: Berry herbal tea w/ honey x 2, water
S: Peach, 2 figs
L: Brown rice with salsa and some veggie burger (Just grains, veggies, spices, and a few nuts)
D: Pomegranite-cherry juice (pure stuff), water
S: Raspberries
D: Vegetable stew (Chickpeas, veggies, potatoes), I had two servings
D: Water
S: Raspberries
E: Push-ups and lunges, nothing spectacular

I started reading "The Starch Solution" over again. It was refreshing to read again. This is the second day of me being 100% (At least I hope I am) on this diet.

On my second day, I am started to feel better, but also very tired. I'm used to several sugar rushes during the day. Today, I ate fruit. It's working. ;-)

I also made a point to do a little exercise, despite my bad back pain. Anyways, I am very tired. So, I'm going to keep this short. :)

Morning:
B: Hashbrowns (No peels)
D: 1 cup herbal berry tea with a little honey, water
S: Peach, raspberries

Lunchtime:
L: Leftover stew x2
D: WATER!
S: 2 dried figs, raspberries

Afternoon/Evening:
D: Leftover stew x2
D: WATER!
S: Raspberries

Exercise:
10 minutes foundation, 10 lunges, 5 push-ups, not much but it's a start!

I ended the day with some chamomile tea and a little honey. :)

I've been doing really good the past couple of days. I've had some anxiety. I've been tired. In fact, some days I was so tired I didn't think that I could walk home on my feet anymore! However, I am preservering. After all that, I haven't had any caffeine. Last night my sister's coffee maker was calling to me...and I didn't answer!

The Foundation training is working well, it's helping the pain in my sciatic. I am also really feeling it as I work out...I've been holding the poses a little longer. :)

So far, I've just been eating the same thing: Rice and beans. Usually, it's green peppers, portabella muchrooms and squash. Dr. M says that if you like something, no reason to not stick with it!

Something is terrible wrong. All of a sudden, I am very depressed. This depressive mood is making me extremely anxious. It may be a side effect of cutting out sugar, then again, it may not be.

I exercised today, and it seemed to help a bit. For a little while, I wasn't nearly as anxious. Tired, but no where near as anxious as I was before. Then, a few hours later, it came back. :(

I'm still sticking to this plan. Even though I find temptation everywhere, I am sticking to it. :-?

Breakfast: Rice, beans, veggies
Snack: Peach, sweet potato
Drink: Water

Lunch: Rice, beans, veggies
Snack: 4 dried figs
Drink: Water

Dinner: Rice, beans, veggies
Drink: Water, chamomile tea w/ honey

Exercise: 10 minutes foundation, 20 minutes Wii strength training, 100 crunches

Yesterday, I was not quite as anxious, which was really good. I think it's the sugar/caffeine withdrawal. ;-)

I did have acouple "minor" blunders: I had a sip of orange juice which ended up being orange sugar water - I did not have any more. I tasted some thai peanut sauce that I made for someone else (quality control). AND...I have one cashew (That being said, I woke up rather sick this morning!)

I think...*touch wood* that my lungs and sinuses are starting to clear up. I've been congested for...months. A doctor diagnosed me with chronic lung infection. I really hope that it does clear up!

Breakfast: Rice, beans, vegetables
Drink: Water

Lunch: Potato, broccoli, peppers, zucchini, and rice (I had 2 servings)
Snack: 4 dried figs
Drink: Water, chamomile tea w/ a little honey (to calm anxiety, it worked)

Dinner: Same as lunch
Snack: 3 REAL figs, plus the blunders mentioned above
Drink: Water, and cucumber-lime water...mmm...

Exercise: 150 crunches, 7 push-ups, 10 minutes foundation, 20 minutes wii
