I started Starch Solution with an honest effort and attended the Advanced study weekend this past weekend. I see now that I really HADN'T gotten rid of everything I needed to, but wanted to share that I had my blood checked at the beginning of the year after I'd already started the program for a week or so and got them checked Saturday at the ASW. I want to tell you I AM THRILLED! Can't wait until I have the weight loss to go with it. Now that I'll be doing the program more to the way it was designed, I'm sure that will help.
THANKYOU, Dr. McDougall for this and for everything I got out of the ASW!

HDL was 50 on 1/11/17 went to 54 on 2/11/17
Triglycerides were 360 on 1/11/17 and went down to 171 on 2/11/17
LDL was 151 on 1/11/17 and went to 109 on 2/11/17
Can I ask, what it was in addition that you needed to get rid of in order to improve the numbers like this?
Thanks

Here's the thing....I got those numbers doing the program as i was "interpreting " it but I hadn't totally gotten rid of some foods that might contain oil, or a squirt of non stick spray here or there or microwave popcorn that contained things other than just popcorn. Vegenaise is something i love and i didn't want to acknowledge that it wasn't on the program. I wasn't too careful in restaurants and just stopped at "is it vegan? good. then I'll take it."
When i went to the ASW then I realized that after meeting people with vibrant health that i coveted and hearing speakers and after listening to Mary when she did the cooking lecture and the how to order in restaurants....well...then i couldn't really claim that i didn't know anymore. I keep hearing Dr Mcdougall's voice in my head when i considered straying....THE FAT YOU EAT IS THE FAT YOU WEAR!!!
SO...even though I had those significant changes, now that I am doing the program to a more strict degree, I am slowing tweaking it to add more veggies to my plate and other tips i've read about. Does that make sense?
Thank you for the pats and the advice everyone!
