Back to my ideal weight

Postby nvarness » Sat Apr 21, 2012 9:50 am

After watching Forks Over Knives towards the end of 2011, I decided that everything seemed to make sense to me and decided to change my eating habits. The McDougall quick and easy cookbook looked like a good start so I purchased it on Amazon and I've adhered to it close to 100% since the beginning of January.
My weight has since dropped from around 235 to 210 which I've always felt is a great number for me.

For the past 7-10 years My weight has fluctuated quite a bit usually in the 215-240 range. This is the first time in a long time though that I'm not nervous about going back up. I'm enjoying the food so much and can eat quite a lot without gaining which I think is critical for someone like me.

I do travel a little bit for work which makes it much harder but I've done pretty well despite it. My wife agrees with me that a whole foods plant based diet is ideal, but can't seem to get on board with it no matter how hard I try to support her.

I've loved reading all your posts here on the message board and thought I'd start out here and introduce myself.

Hi Noah, it's nice to meet you! I also came here after seeing forks over knives. Congratulations on your weight loss!

Here's a tip for your wife: have her watch the movie 'vegetated'. Maybe looking at things from a different angle might change her mind.
My type 2 diabetic husband and I have lost a total of 65 pounds thanks to Dr. McDougall. I'm cooking for a household of 7 McDougallers, and enjoying good health and a renewed sense of well being.

I couldn't seem to find anything about a movie called "Vegetated." Do you have a link that would point me to more info?

Thanks.
