March 2014 McDougall Weekly Weigh In Group

Postby Debbie » Sat Mar 01, 2014 3:22 pm

Hello again everyone!!! Its March. Let's not drop off from the goals we made in the beginning of the year. Find something to help keep the motivation alive. Maybe it's an older picture, maybe you are larger or sicker or maybe you are healthier and thinner. I have some of each. Maybe you have reduced some medications...keep a log of how much money you save by not having to buy them any longer. Maybe it's the space in your medicine cabinet. I wrote a post yesterday on my Facebook page talking about food choices. Check it out if you want. https://www.facebook.com/TheShapeOfMeToCome

The weigh in dates for March are just like last month...The 7th, 14th, 21st, and the 28th. Let's keep rocking 2014. Everyone is doing great!!

March 1st seemed like a good day to start over, so, once again, I am. I have lost track of how many times Inhave had to start over. What's the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results? Okay, I guess I have been insane for a long time! But, here I am again.
I won't go into why or what, but suffice it to say, that I was lured by a doctor urging me to cure my diabetes by eating chicken and fish and "as much butter and eggs as I wanted". His words! I swear! I tried it, for two days, and felt really sick. I'll ignore the rest ofbthe sirdid details- not worth the time or energy.
Friday, the 28th, i knew I was starting on March 1st, and I felt hopeful. I watched Forks Over Knives for the first time. What an inspirational movie! It reminded me that I also have videos from Dr. McD and from Jeff Novick that will inspire me and help keep me on track.
Thank you, Debbie.......no matter how far I stray, I know you will be here. I'll try not to step on the scale til next Saturday.

150.6 this morning. Down 0.4 from last week. I actually did hit 150 earlier in the week, but was up a bit this morning. No worries, going in the right direction.

I am down 1/2 lb this week which puts me at 115 lbs. Not too bad for being out of town last week for Mardi Gras.

0 pounds this week. :( I've had a rotten cold this week, maybe hormones, not as much energy at all. So, while I didn't eat tons to justify not losing, there it is. Oh well, I should be over the cold this weekend and hopefully have a better week coming up. At least I didn't gain! Looking for the silver lining....

Loss of .2 this week! Creeping along, at least in the right direction! Everyone is doing great so far in March (LtL, hang in there--being sick is no fun!) (AmyLA, welcome back! We missed you!)

And don't forget we lose an hour of sleep this Saturday night! Set your clocks ahead and either sleep in a half an hour or go to be half an hour earlier!!

Hope it is okay to join the weigh-in? Been on the MWLP for about one month.
Todays weight is 115 on the digital scale. (Analog scale says I weigh 112?)
That means I have lost about a pound this week I think.

I weighed in after a long run at:

221 ( -3)

The Weight watchers scale puts me quite a bit higher than this and I'd like to get to the point that I could use that for a weekly milepost, but I'll try to keep posting here as I am in a weight loss frame of mind and you all put up with me when i couldn't run and was stagnant ( or even up a bit). So I want to post while I think I can contribute.

Congrats to all who met their goals for the week.

I need the motivation with this as my weight has been static and up a slight bit over the last few months. I was losing great until November when I fractured my radial head in my elbow and had to have surgery to fixate the bone. I have been hovering between 210 and 212 ever since. The thing I am very thankful for is this WOE, even though I had a major injury, I stayed Plant Strong and did not gain weight!! However, I am now stuck and the scale is closer to 212 than 210. I want to get UNDER 200!!

So game on, I weighed 212.6 this morning. That is down 0.2 pound loss from last Friday.

Thanks Everyone!!

Oops! I almost missed my first week posting my results.
-2 pounds for the week. Not great for the first week, but okay...I'll take it. Better than going up. ;-)
It is nice to come back here among friends. I have been reading so many conflicting studies lately. It makes me wonder: how can there be two totally different schools of thought about nutrition, and both claim to be THE answer? I don't know--- I just know that when I eat this way, the McD way, I feel better immediately. When I have slipped and started back to closer to a lower starch way (ala Paleo), I felt sicker- immediately. Coincidence? I think not.
Good luck to all this week.
