Postby CraftyeLadye » Mon Nov 30, 2009 10:54 pm

Do you all go through per week. I am mcding by myself and seem to be buying a lot of potatoes. How many do pounds do you think you go through per week by yourself?

Well...there are three women and one teenage daughter here and we go through about 20-30 lbs a week.

I get to peel most of them too...

Oh well, I love hearing how low my Mom's blood sugar is and how much weight my sister continues to take off. :D

We love brown rice too, but at Aldi's 10 lbs of potatoes are $1.49 so it makes more sense to use that as our main starch.

Mr. D and I can do serious damage to a 5 pound bag of freshly baked red potatoes in just a couple hours. 8) I now do two bags because the Doodlekids like them too of course.
It IS the food! :unibrow:

For the two of us here, we go through about 10-15 pounds a week. Although one week a few weeks back, we went through 25 pounds.

Potatoes consumed

Postby Burgess » Tue Dec 01, 2009 6:16 am

I eat about 25 lbs of potatoes per week, by myself. I eat potatoes at almost every meal, but sometimes I add other starchy roots (sweet potatoes, yams, rutabagas).

I buy them in the 10 lbs. bags of Russets. I don't peel them. Sometimes I eat instant mashed potatoes or diced, dried potatoes. My typical meals are:

Potatoes - 50%
Vegs - 25%
Fruit - 25%

But that varies a lot.

With a BMI of 18-19, I am the leanest I have ever been, and I am very healthy (finally). (See second link below my signature.)

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I was worried that I was eating too many potatoes, but it seems I am in the middle of all of you so maybe I am ok. I am just eating potatoes, veggies and fruit. Not even as much fruit as in the beginning either. I don't eat brown rice because it is not as satisfying to me as potatoes. My pants are looser, but I still don't know how much if anything I have lost.

I started this woe on November 2 and measured myself then, so tomorrow on my 1 month mm anniversary I will measure. Almost afraid to even though I know this woe works. Call me silly lol.

I am not sure. Perhaps five years or so. The weight loss (about 35 lbs) came mostly in the first year or so, I suppose. (I was not tracking my weight, but I noticed my pants were looser and then I was shocked to see my weight at a doctor's office.)

Were you overweight before?

I did not think so. In retrospect, though, I would say yes. My standard of fitness now is: Can you see a clear outline of tendons, bones and muscles? If not, then there is fat still to lose.

I was trying to solve these problems: http://anti-itisdiet.blogspot.com/2007/ ... ation.html

This is the solution I found: http://anti-itisdiet.blogspot.com/2007/ ... ution.html

You will find all the details on that site.
