I eat lots of beans -- more than MWL recommends, actually. I find them very satisfying and it has not caused a problem with weight loss or regaining health.

Right now I'm doing Mary's Mini, so no beans. Normally, I do eat about a cup of beans a day. Doing without beans is making me a lot hungrier these days so I have to compensate with a extra potato or two a day.

I eat at least 1/2 to 1 cup a day. I have to be careful to measure because I tend to overdo them. My very favorite is edamame. Just so happens this morning I fixed baked beans to take to work. I like to add mushrooms and greens to them for my lunch.
