Let's finish strong.
There are 35 days left in 2009!!!

This countdown is reminding me how quickly Christmas is coming! Well, the one pound that I lost in Nov means that I was down a total of 51 pounds in a full year. I was hoping for 52 (oh well). That should mean that I have less 19 pounds to go, but I original goal weight was too high. I'm guessing that I have more like 30 to go. Anyway, I think that in 2010 I should be able to get to a good goal weight, and then start maintaining. I don't know what I will be able to add in to maintain, because if I add things back I still tend to overdo it. Yesterday I had some bread, and as careful as I was with the rest of my meal, I kept getting more and more bread!! Well, I know that this will be a lifelong struggle for sure! Take care, LauraA

Good morning all. I’m on plan and planning to stay that way. This is going to be my last post in the monthly MWL threads here on this forum. As I just wrote in a post in the lounge, I’ve started a new website for supporting followers of the McDougall program and I expect to be pretty busy with that project. I’ll still come by to visit all of you and I hope you will stop by and visit me there too.

www.mcdougalltalk.com

I will be forever grateful to LauraA for starting and maintain these monthly MWL threads. The Thursday weigh in has been the focus of my week. I also want to say how much I appreciate the many messages of support and encouragement I have received in these monthly MWL threads. This group has really demonstrated that it’s possible for people to consistently behave in a positive and supportive manner that benefits everyone. Thank you all so much.

I did good for Thanksgiving, all McD good except did eat some clam dip (less than 1/4 c) ...either the fat or the dairy got me BAD, kicking in an IBS flare up that almost made me cry. And the amount I ate was so minimal, I am flabbergasted it affected me the way it did.

so today I am guzzling ginger tea, had a baked potato for brekkie and an apple for snack. Planning something simple and digestion-healthy for the other meals. give my tummy a break.

No weight loss this week. :-(

But at least I didn't gain any weight either. :-)

Well, I wasn't all that great while staying with my family at the ocean for the holiday. Came home to a 2 lbs GAIN. Glad I didn't stay through the weekend! No one is to blame but me. Most of the eating was done while I was helping cleaning up.

I realize it's not a true gain. Most is from all the salt in the foods. But, happy to report today is a new day! I have everything planned out what I'm having and it has no refined items in it whatsoever...ON PLAN AND PLANNING TO STAY THAT WAY!

Other than tomorrow, I have no engagements (around food) till I go to Disney next Sat. Even then, I'll be in good company. My DIL is on maintenance at Weight Watchers, so we won't be concentrating on over-eating during the vacation.

There are 34 days left in 2009!!!

Good morning all - everyone has left here, and it is time to clean out the fridge and get rid of the leftover Thanksgiving food. I need to get rid of the bread right away - nothing else really tempts me. I hope that everyone has a great weekend. Take care, LauraA

I, too, am cleaning out my fridge today. I feel so much better when I'm 100% McDougall. This is the beginning of the holiday season and I want to go through it feeling great, not logy and lousy.

My affirmation till the end of the year is to stay the course, no matter what is presented at all the celebrations I'll be attending.

Just watched Jeff's new DVD. So that's a great start.

Happy weekend to all.

I am on plan and planning to stay that way.

I have been trying to do mwl for 3 months now and it is slowly coming together for me.I keep tweaking my diet to become 100% compliant.I was having a hard time with nut butters, whole wheat bread and soy milk.

This week I threw my Peanut butter and cashew butter in the garbage and since they are not in the house they haven't entered my mind.

I have been mixing my organic whole bean soy milk with 1/2 water. The only fat free one I could find was very expensive and tasted like powdered cows milk to me.The almond milk I found has isolated soy protein in it and the rice milk has more calories and fat than soy. I made my own rice milk and oat milk but I find them slimy.I only use the soy milk for tea and my oatmeal so I will keep trying to find a sub or give it up.

I am down to about 4 slice of bread a week but I will work on getting rid of that next week. The problem with bread is I still need to buy it for my family.
So I am getting there and I am proud of the strides I have made.

Have a great on plan day everyone

On plan, and planning to stay that way.

Was just hubby and me for Thanksgiving this year, so it went well. I didn't make my usual food for 20 when there are on 2-3 of us. Not nearly as exhausted this year.

Dang, this year is nearly over. I'm staying on plan for the rest of the year.
