Hi everyone, and welcome to our new thread. Tomorrow is our weigh in day, for those who care to participate. Also, with tomorrow's weigh in, several of us will see if we were able to lose 10 pounds during a two month period - Aug and Sept. I'm guessing that I might have missed it by one pound, but that is ok! I still may make it by my Oct 4th birthday, and that would mean 50 pounds lost by my birthday. Also, if I can lose 3 more pounds by Nov 1, it will mean 52 pounds lost during my year of MWL.
So, welcome everyone - MWL or Mary's Mini or regular plan. We welcome everyone - even if you aren't needing to lose weight, just come cheer us on. Nov 1 will be the one year anniversary of our MWL group!! Take care, LauraA

I'm in. I took a break from the group in September, and it wasn't such a good month for me, so I'm thinking I need to be back here for October.

I'm in. I'm really looking forward to colder weather foods! I find it easier to stick with the plan during the colder months. Soups are a little more filling than salads. :D

“I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member.” I always think of this quote by Groucho Marx as we begin our group each month, and people ask if they may join! We may not seem very exclusive, but we really are. We have never had a negative word said here in all of these months! Everyone is kind and encouraging. We have all been so kind to each other, and I really appreciate that. Oh, we have often been negative about ourselves or our non-supportive families, friends, or coworkers! Luckily, we can always find friends here, and see examples of someone doing well to get us back on track. My thanks to everyone. Take care, Laura

I've not been a very faithful journaler so I am trying to see what will work for me and keep me on task. This one looks good. I started a mary's mini today. I am planning on 7 days and then seeing how I feel about potatoes after that...I lurk all the time. This board is the best for support and warm caring folks. I'm glad to be a(n) (inconsistent) part of it! It sticks more and more every time. :D

I probably won't be here to post in the morning. I am down only 1 pound this week, but I'll take it. :D

Congratulations on the one pound loss, cowgirrlup!

I'm down 2.6 pounds for the week. That puts me just 20 pounds from my goal. It's amazing what happens when I actually follow the program. How 'bout that?

I'm looking forward to giving and receiving support this month. My goals for the month are to stay on plan 100% (no special events this month, so no excuses for feasts) and get back to being consistent with exercising 6 days a week.

Good morning all - I'm happy to post a one pound loss this week, even though it means that I lost 8 pounds in August and Sept, when I was hoping to lose 10. I have lost a total of 48 pounds, and it would be nice to have lost 50 by my actual birthday (Oct 4) which may not happen. It is more likely that I could have lost 52 by Nov 1, our one year anniversary as an MWL Group!! Hope all is going well for all of you, LauraA

Checking in. So far all is good. Yesterday there was a going away party for someone and there were all kinds of goodies--I didn't have any! Today there is another potluck for 2 departments merging. :eek: The party season seems to be starting! Stay strong everyone!

The scale says 140--I lost 2 pounds so far from doing MWL since last weekend. My goal is 118-120.

I have a couple of replies to other people's comments, and some of these are from the Sept thread.
Mommylut - big congratulations on your memory walk - that is great. I wanted to do a memory walk because of my mom, but I didn't get around to it. Also - you wanted Oct 1? well, here it is!!
Griffin and apollac I home schooled my younger three kids for several years - that was long ago, my youngest two are 24 now!
Reni -that is a wonderful story about your mom! Amazing - I hope Dr McD sees that, though I'm sure that he won't even be surprised!
toadfood-congratulations on having just 20 more pounds to go. I have 22, but I think that my goal is to high, and I'll have more to lose even after that. That's ok, though, this is how I'm eating forever!! Take care, LauraA
