Good morning all. I’m down 2 pounds this week. This week’s loss gives me two milestones. I finally have less than 300 pounds left to lose and I’m finally under 450 pounds. The next big milestone for me will be getting under 400 pounds. Sometime this summer hopefully. I’m off to change my ticker.

Delighted to see so many new people on board! Yippee! The more, the merrier!

Letha: Congratulations on reaching two of your goals in one week! That's fantastic!

Riva: I wouldn't say you're "a little extreme"—more like 100% compliant!! :-D

Toadfood: Congrats on your sugar numbers! Another step in the right direction. I feel your pain about seeing the number on the scale go up.

I'm up this week also [+3 lbs], so I'm starting afresh with the scales again today. I had peanut sauce over what would've been a MWL meal, for dinner last night, and I'm assuming that this was the culprit. I've been back to the gym—as painful as that was—I'm still aching, but feeling good now that I'm out and moving again! Here's to a great week. :D

Hello everyone and congratulations on another month of healthful eating.

I've had a stomach flu this week......and I'm down 1.8 lbs. I rather not lose this way again! I feel better today, still a little weak though. Looking forward to a new month and more excercise.

Postby Love the Lorax » Thu Apr 02, 2009 7:55 am

I didn't post before to say I'd be in the group, but I am. Down 0.6 this week and absolutely determined to have a better loss next week.

Letha - way to go on another 2 pounds. Gotta love that turtle energy!

Thanks for giving me the link to Popeye's. I guess I won't be going back there EVER! My red beans and rice had 19 grams of fat in them. Ugh...I guess it was still better then the fries and shrimp but still that is just all kinds of wrong.
My weight today was 186.

I am up 2 lbs this week, and no surprise to me: My mom had a health emergency, and I've been with her for 5 days while she's in the hospital and now in skilled care. I spent almost every hour of every day at the hospital and had no time whatsoever to cook, so I've been grabbing food wherever I can find it. Fortunately, I brought some of my leftover veg soup, but it was only enough for one meal. I also brought food to cook but frankly, after spending an entire day at the hospital, dealing with therapists and drs and my mom, and then running errands for her the rest of the time, I didn't feel like cooking at 8 or 9 p.m. every night.

I'm back home now, but I'll have to go out there again in a few days, so I'll be cooking this weekend and stocking up.

Big hugs to you CarolWL. I am dealing with issues with my Mom, too and I know how hard it is. Hang in there and do what you can. I figure any healthy meal I eat is a good thing and I will eventually get back to healthier eating when I can.

Well since I hadn't posted all of March I had gained 2 lbs, so it should say that I've lost 8 lbs not 10 but I don't feel like changing it. So I'm going with no loss/no gain and I'll have to work really hard this week to lose those 2 lbs and get back to -10 over all! I'm motivated! Good job to everyone else!

I stayed even. Not bad for some eating out.

I haven't been to Popeyes in 14 yrs. Back then the only thing vegan was the pickled jalapeno. Their food is terrible. I remember my grandmother loved it. She had a visiting nurse who'd come and pull her blood regularly for testing. When she pulled it she showed it to mom, over half of it was fat. She demaned to know what my grandmother had ate the night before. It was her beloved popeyes chicken.

Hug back to you, too, cowgirrlup. My mom will be in skilled care for several weeks, but I'm thinking that this is probably the easy (easier) part. When she gets home, there will be all kinds of issues to deal with that they are handling now in skilled care. When she gets home, I'll have to figure it all out. I also have to work, but fortunately, I'm self-employed, and I can drag my work out there when I go. (Almost impossible to get it done, tho, as you can imagine.)

It's a real life changing event for her and for me. She was totally independent before. Now she's completely dependent. I'm learning to "take one day at a time."

Best to you and your mom, cowgirrlup.

I'm only down .5 lb this week :-(

I tried cutting back on the exersize, and added little more food, since I realized I was only eating about 800 calories day. I thought this would break me out of my plateau but it didn't.

So for the month of March I lost at total of 6 lbs.

It's getting discouraged losing so slow when I'm doing everything right. The weak results aren't helping me keep motivated. I'm thinking I might have to shake things up and maybe try something new. My friend when on Jenny Craig the beginning of March and lost 12 lbs in a month!

Stormie
Your doing great. Don't give up. It doesn't look like you have a lot to lose. Your girlfriend might have more to lose than you and her eating habits were probably not so great either (prior to Jenny Craig) I can't imagine Jennys food being healthier than McDougall's way. Your doing it the right way and the smart way.
I think I only lost 2 pounds the whole month of March. I'm ok with that. I know for myself when I eat 800 calories or less I lose less that week than when I keep my calories right around 1000-1200. It doesn't make sense to me if you eat a little more you can lose a little more but that's how our bodies work.
I bet you will have a big number next week if you keep it up. I'll be watching.

weight check in Thursday

Postby Riva » Thu Apr 02, 2009 3:44 pm

I lost 1 pound.

Oh, this was so annoying...I got on the scale before the shower which is my habit and weighed one amount. I took a shower and just for kicks, I was wondering if wet hair would add another 2 ounces. But it added 1 pound 2 ounces...not the wet hair actually, but the scale must have a mind of its own. Therefore, I am not counting that extra good weight loss since it went back up 5 minutes later! Maybe I need a better scale?
