A comment overheard from a co-worker, who is doing some type of Weight Watchers point-counting system. The person that she was talking to responded, "I always forget about protein." :duh:

I had no inclination to pop my head over the cubicle and correct her! This WOE is affecting my anal tendencies to share my "wisdom" with everyone! :D

I should show her the bag of soynuts that I've been snacking on lately. Only a 1/4 cup has 25% of the recommended protein for a day, and believe me, they won't fill you up!

Say absolutely nothing. Eat your potatoes and drop the weight. Everyone will see what happens. That's much more effective.

Most of my colleagues are on some form of crappy diet, and i have to listen to thier daily nonsense. one of them has lost half a stone in six months. FAIL. Shecthinks eating seriously giant portions of chicken every day is making her healthy. i just think..... has she not seen what i look like?!

and another fool is starving herself, and taking diet pills that say "Warning, not approved by the fda" 0_o

I pity the fool who takes diet pills that aren't approved by the FDA.

Reminds me of my overweight friends with their artificial nails and thin drab hair telling me I look skinny and unhealthy. I want to say, is it my long and healthy natural nails and hair that makes you think that. People!

"This WOE is affecting my anal tendencies"

Their WOE will affect their "anal tendencies" in an entirely different and undesirable manner.

"Protein gives you energy" is the other misconception that drives me a bit crazy. I saw this in a vegan recipe for "energy bars" I came across recently. The reasoning was that for a long hike or bike ride you need extra protein to give you energy so they were packed full of pea protein. Better than animal protein, but still, unnecessary. Haven't people heard of carb-loading?

Especially after we know the things that do get approved by the FDA.

I always forget about my protein too. But I figure that's a good thing.
